Experienced aircrew is paid for their specialized skills, hard earned experience and a high level of responsibility. Aircrew also require high standards of physical and mental fitness. A relatively minor deterioration in health can cause the temporary or permanent loss of medical certification and therefore the loss of license.

Ofcourse the loss of income has an effect on the quality of life. But many (starting) pilots have taken out a loan to pay for their education which is a contributing problem. Aforementioned problems can be solved by means of a Loss of Licence Insurance.

This policy covers permanent total disability and temporary total disability (up to 12 months) when a pilot loses his or her licence.
The maximum sum insured is € 150.000.

We divide the policy in 3 main areas being:

  • Bodily Injury (injury caused by an accident, which is not caused by sickness, disease or any degenerative condition or gradually operating cause);
  • General Ilness (any sudden deterioration in health not caused by bodily injury or a classified illness);
  • Classified Illness (an illness which is (in)directly caused by alcohol, drugs or narcotics).

Permanent Total Disability (maximum sum insured per person)

  • Bodily Injury        100% of the sum insured/waiting period of 180 days
  • General Illness    100% of the sum insured/waiting period of 180 days
  • Classified Illness   25% of the sum insured/waiting period of 180 days

Temporary Total Disability
(maximum sum insured per person/maximum period 12 months)

  • Bodily Injury       2,0% of the sum insured per month/waiting period of 90 days
  • General Illness   2,0% of the sum insured per month/waiting period of 90 days
  • Classified Illness 0,5% of the sum insured per month/waiting period of 90 days

No benefit is payable during the waiting period.
